中国铁道部部长说，有计划建造链接大陆厦门和台湾岛的铁路。
但他没有说明列车将以何种方式跨越180海里的海峡。

China considers Taiwan rail link
China's Railways Minister says there are plans to build a train line between Xiamen on the mainland and the island of Taiwan.
But he did not say how trains would be taken across the 180-kilometre Taiwan Straight.
Liu Zhijun is quoted by Xinhua news agency as saying the Government is "actively planning" the line which would take passengers from Beijng to Taipei.
The Chinese Government says Taiwan is part of its territory so it must be reunified with the rest of the country.
The Government in Taiwan says it will not rejoin with the mainland until there are significant democratic reforms.
Relations between the one-time Cold War enemies have thawed recently with greater trade and tourism links. 台湾当局表示，在大陆进行较大民主改革之前，不会考虑与大陆的连接。
