BEIJING (Reuters) – China said on Thursday that any attempt to put pressure on the country over the issue of jailed Nobel Peace Prize winner Liu Xiaobo would not succeed.

Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu made the comment at a regular news conference.

China called the award an "obscenity" that should not have gone to a man it calls a criminal, and has exerted diplomatic pressure on countries not to attend Friday's award ceremony in Oslo.
中国称这个奖项的颁发决定是“猥琐”的，不应该颁给一个囚犯。中国还从外交上呼吁各国不要参加周五在奥斯陆举行的颁奖仪式。
Most of the 18 states that will not attend the ceremony have strong commercial ties with China or share its hostility toward Western human rights pressure.

也就是说有在奥斯陆设立使领馆的国家差不多有三分之一支持中国在这件事上的立场，而且还要考虑到剩下那三分之二的国家中相当一部分是西方国家。
这可以看出在这个问题上发达国家阵营和发展中国家阵营的尖锐对立。
