Looking like something that's been bodged together in a shed by animated inventors Wallace and Gromit, the wacky contraption uses 16 straw broomsticks connected to a rotating iron disc which spins round as it is pulled along behind a van.

Although it might appear to be a one-off, it's a tried and trusted design that has been in use across China for decades.

The 'brooms' certainly don't look like they are manufactured from straw to me, straw is dried grass stems, these brooms look more like twigs.

I can just imagine the amount of broken windows and dents in vehicles that that thing will be resonsible for as it hurls stones and all kinds of debris at them, what an absolutley stupid idea.

The Chinese are full of good ideas. Like food adulteration, shoddy manufacturing and now this lot of stupidity. A man with a dust cart such as we used to have is infinitely more sensible than that silly contraption. Any comments about ingenuity and so forth are equally stupid - in fact you could argue for putting the blame on this paper and our media in general. You are dumbed down and kept that way by the media.

从a扫到b，没有解决问题。没错。但是像英国这些小哈利波特们，试想，如果中国每天都去清扫那些乡村道路，去吸尘，去排污，那我们每年的环卫经费就不是那点钱了。 看起来很不错呢
