Vietnam and Australia called on Wednesday for "self-restraint" in the South China Sea and warned against the unilateral use of force, an obvious reference to China's increasingly aggressive presence that has stirred concerns across the disputed region.越南和澳大利亚周三呼吁在南中国海“自我克制”，警告不要单方面使用武力。两国话锋所指显然是中国，后者在该地区日益强烈的影响力令相关国家感到不安。Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung met Australian counterpart Tony Abbott in Canberra, where they will sign a deal on issues including security and climate change.越南总理阮晋勇在堪培拉会见澳大利亚总理阿博特，他们将签署涉及安全和气候变化等问题的协议。
Dung told the Australian parliament there was an imperative need to draw up a code of conduct for the South China Sea.阮晋勇对澳大利亚议会称，有必要起草南海行为准则。
"We agreed ... (to) exercise self-restraint and refrain from actions that may escalate the tension in the region, including the use of force to unilaterally change the status quo," Dung said.“我们同意……要进行自我克制，避免采取可能导致该地区紧张局势升级的行为，包括使用武力单方面改变现状，”阮晋勇说道。
Dung said Australia and Vietnam were also committed to working together closely and deepening their friendship.阮晋勇还表示，澳大利亚和越南致力于紧密合作，加深两国友谊。
