BEIJING, CHINA: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has urged China to keep buying US debt.
美国国务卿希拉里

Clinton made the plea shortly before leaving China, during which she agreed to work closely with Beijing on the financial crisis.
希拉里在离开中国的前夕提出了这个请求。另外她同意就解决金融危机这个问题上同中国保持密切合作。
China was Clinton’s final stop on a four-nation Asian tour that also took her to Japan, Indonesia and South Korea.
中国是希拉里亚洲四国行的最后一站，之前她曾依此访问日本，印度尼西亚和韩国。
She called on authorities in Beijing to continue buying US treasuries, saying it would help jumpstart the flagging US economy and stimulate imports of Chinese goods.
她恳请中国继续购买美国债券，以此来帮助带动已有衰退迹象的美国经济，同时刺激美国对中国商品的进口。
“By continuing to support American treasury instruments the Chinese are recognising our interconnection. We are truly going to rise or fall together,” Clinton said at the US embassy in Beijing.
“通过购买（原文为支持）美国资产，中国人意识到中美之间是相互联系的。两个国家确实是拴在一根绳上的蚂蚱。”希拉里在北京的美国大使馆里说到。
During an interview on a Chinese talk show, she focused on the need for China to help finance the massive US$787-billion US economic stimulus plan by continuing to buy US treasuries.
在一个中国电视节目的采访过程中，她强调需要中国通过购买美国国债的途径来帮助美国完成7870亿美元的经济刺激计划。
“The US needs the investment in treasury bonds to shore up its economy to continue to buy Chinese products,” she said.
她说：“美国需要中国对美国债券的投资来振兴美国经济，从而使美国人继续购买中国产品。”
China is the top holder of US Treasury bills, with $696.2 billion worth of the securities in December followed by Japan with $578.3 billion, according to the latest official data from Washington. (ANN/ AsiaNews)
