China owns our debt and can demand repayment at anytime and our car companies are on the verge of bankruptcy so Japan has won.
LA County has a 30% dropout rate...how can we as a country compete if our children aren't educated? We'll be performing the menial jobs that don't require an education. Enough of the bellyaching to "Buy American" - we need to make sure our children stay in school to continue to be innovators to be able to take the high paying jobs. We've literally stagnated and don't want to be bothered - case in point less than 25% of registered voters bothered to vote Tues. to fight higher taxes. More people vote for American Idol - what does that say about us as a nation?

The Japan experience from the '80s is a good one to keep in my mind. But we can't just look at China and assume it will be the same again. It might, but it might not. The worst thing to do would be to become too content and satisfied with the status quo. There are a lot of changes we need to make to stay competitive in this global environment.

I agree with you 100% especially when we have special interest groups like Laraza undermining our laws and sucking our blood to send back to Mexico. We will fall to the Communist Chineese economicly and by military invasion. I beleive China will take Alaska when they feel we are took weakand unwilling to defend this soil. Look at what a handfull of Japaneese did in WWII. Why would they do this well how about oil, fertile soil. In Piereston Indiana a company by the name of Paragon Medical is proudly flying a Communist Chineese flag on our soil. I hope our peoplewake up intime to realize there are more important things in life than watching Friends and having a job.

Great pep talk. Vaguely quote Freedom and Educate don't cut it. US does not rank that high in education, especially math, worldwide. Freedom is great, but lack of political freedom does NOT equate lack of innovation. I would sure like to see better arguments than empty rhetoric.
