A girl believed to be aged six has died after contracting swine flu, it was revealed yesterday.
She died at Birmingham Children's Hospital on Friday, but news of her death was not officially announced until yesterday.
The other UK fatalities were an unnamed pensioner aged 73, and mother Jacqui Flemming, 38. Both died at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley, Scotland.
News of the latest death emerged as the Department of Health announced a sharp rise in the number of confirmed cases of swine flu in England - up 1,604 since Friday, to 5,937. |
