一个美国朋友对CNN，以及ZD事件的评论（英文）

Hi Misa,

Since when do people really believe everything they see on the news??? News reporting is slanted, which is a polite way of saying "biased". All news reporitng, whether on TV, on the internet or in newspapers shuld be taken with a grain of salt.

Although they (CNN, Fox, etc.) propose to the world that they are giving the world "unbiaised", "straight" news reporting, they are in fact doing two things: selling air time by making news bits "exciting" and pushing their own line of global propaganda.

I am well aware that CNN is basically a "dragon hater" rather than a "panda lover" (if you would like to know why, I will be happy to let you know my thoughts on the matter).  I am also deeply disturbed by the number of foreign celebrites that endorse causes in foreign countries of which they know next to nothing about. Rather than help the poor and suffering people in their own land, they love to advance causes in far off lands that seem exotic and mysterious. Examples run from Richard Gere, to Nancy Polaski both of whom apparently support the concept of a God-king (i.e. the Dalai Lama), which is repugnant to most clear thinking individuals anywhere in the world in this day and age.

On of the main problems that should be and can be addressed and improved is China's poor PR maching, reflected by the countless government announcements and proclimations, which clearly play into the hands of "dragon haters' by conjuring up images of Mao and red book waving, hysterical mobs or heavy handed and brutal cadres smashing down "the poeple". What China really needs, in my opinion, is an intellectual, level-headed PR Team that better understands western thinking and can quickly counter the garbage that is spewed up in the name of "headline news" on the likes of CNN, etc.


PS - I thought that it was especially humorous that the Dalai Lama offered to resign. Resign from what? God-king? Besides who is the number 2 man or woman who would take over for him? Of course, there is no number 2. No one evens knows the name of any Tibetan leader-in-exile aside from the Dalai Lama. What a joke!

西方的偏见是在殖民掠夺基础上，工业革命发展过程中产生的一种自我膨胀的畸形理念。纵观西方近代发展史，就不难知道这种理念的虚伪性，两面性。任何事物的发展有兴盛，也有衰弱的时候。西方松散的联邦制及国家地域的局限性，使得西方联邦的瓦解和西方国家的没落只是一个时间的问题，他们终将自食其果。
