中国最主要的航空展览上传出重大新闻，即周日成交的50架C919商用飞机的订单。
C919型飞机是中国制造的的相当于空中巴士A320和波音737 的一架单通道，拥有168个座位及修长机身的商用飞机，由中国国有的飞机制造商中国商飞制造（全称：中国商用飞机有限责任公司）。
根据该公司的声明，GE通用电气旗下商用飞机租赁与融资部门预定了10架飞机订单，2家中国的航空公司，河北航空和幸福航空分别预定了20架飞机订单。
中国国际航空航天博览会于11月13日~18日在珠海举行。
东方航空（Eastern Air Lines），是一家倒闭的美国航空公司，有了资金投入后，有可能再度崛起，成为美国第一家飞商飞飞机的航空公司。在航展上，东方航空和商飞的代表们为未来的飞机销售案签署了一份谅解协议。
中国的航空公司，比如中国国航，中国东航和中国南航迄今为止已成为商飞最大的买家。最新的C919的订单数为380架。
在那份声明中，商飞预测至2031年，全球需要约31739架新飞机，中国市场将是最大的一个，届时需要4274架新大客机。
C919型飞机的试飞时间定于2014年，第一批订单将在2016年交付。

Jet sale boosts China's rivalry with Airbus, BoeingThe biggest news to come out of China's major international air show, which concluded on Sunday, is the announcement of orders for 50 C919 commercial jets. The C919 is China's answer to the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 -- a single-aisle, 168-seat, narrow-body commercial liner produced by Chinese state-run aircraft manufacturer Comac (Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China). According to a company statement, GE Capital Aviation Service (a GE subsidiary) placed an order for 10 planes, while two Chinese airline operators, Hebei Airlines and Joy Air, placed orders for 20 aircraft each. The China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition was held from November 13 to 18 in Zhuhai. Eastern Air Lines, a defunct U.S. carrier that may be revived with an injection of investment, may become the first U.S. airline to fly Comac planes. At the air show, representatives from Eastern Air Lines signed a memorandum of understanding with Comac for future aircraft sales. Chinese carriers such as Air China, China Eastern and China Southern have been Comac's biggest buyers to date. The latest order places total C919 sales at 380. In the same announcement, Comac predicted that the world will need 31,739 new aircraft by 2031, with the Chinese market being the largest, with a need for 4,273 new large passenger aircraft by the same date. Test flights for the C919 are scheduled for 2014, while the first orders are slated to be delivered in 2016. URSilly If this were Apple, they would file a lawsuit based upon patent infringement. Their argument would be: See, theirs has a cockpit, two wings, a tail, and a place inside for people to sit just like ours.....they owe us billions of dollars.
Bluex I will only comment on the plane if there is nothing wrong with it for at least a year, same for all chinese product.
David Harris the vast majority of the planes ordered were by Chinese controlled airlines. Besidews, wait till they start flying and falling out of the sky, we're all aware they just don't have a clue about Quality.
Eduardo Mizrahi - David Harris Chinese came to stay. In this globalized world we manufacturers thought they would fail because of their bad quañity. This didnt happen. Today China produces almost all kind of products and produce them with quality. The tiger is alive, feed and out of the cage.
Irani Maciel - Eduardo Mizrahi I agree hundred percent, Eduardo. And, Davis, the catching thing with the chinese is that they have cheap labor available, abundantly. This point only will make the difference... quality on aviation issues is a standard, nowadays.

Hendril Verwoerd I would not fly on a Chinese made plane for all the tea in China. It's one thing to have your Chinese made vacuum cleaner pack up on you while you're using it but a totally diffrent matter if you're sitting in a Chinese made plane.
TheGodfather72 China will do it well. This is an important project for them, much like the Olympics.When China wants to do something well, they will , they want to, and guess what , they can !

TheGodfather72 For China aviation industry to take off, it is very easy. Let China Eastern and other local China carriers buy C919 and use it for some common domestic routes. Once more people experienced it, confidence will grow. And word of mouth is better than anything else. Other countries will place orders. But China MUST ensure Quality good, Price cheap. In the long run, you will win : )
Hendril Verwoerd - TheGodfather72 Do you have any idea how many people are involved in the aircraft manufacturing industry in the Western world? How many people would stand to lose their jobs if their own countries started placing orders for Chinese planes? Other countries will NOT be placing orders because this is more compliacted than just looking at price. Years ago the west made a mistake by allowing Chinese imports to flood its market to the detriment of their own industries, I doubt they will make the same mistake twice.
