BEIJING, April 12 (UPI) -- China will extend $25 billion in aid and credit to members of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN,officials revealed Sunday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, meetingwith envoys from the 10 ASEAN countries in Beijing, said China will establish a$10 billion China-ASEAN investment cooperation fund to be used forinfrastructure construction, energy production, information technology andcommunications, the state-run Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.
中国外交部长杨洁篪于北京会见了亚洲十国使节.他表示中国将用100亿美建立中国与东盟投资合作基金.这笔资金将被用于基础设施建设, 发电, 信息技术和交流.国有新闻媒体新华社报道.
Yang also revealed China planned to offer $15 billion in credit to ASEANcountries during the next three to five years, as well as $39.7 million inspecial aid to Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar to meet what Chinese officials calledurgent needs in those countries.

Yang made the announcements after returning from Thailand, where thescheduled ASEAN summit was postponed due to domestic unrest.
