The Philippine economy shrank by 2.3 per cent in the first three months of the year from the previous period, posting the biggest quarter-on-quarter contraction in more than 20 years, as the government’s fiscal stimulus package failed to take off.
菲律宾经济与上一年同期相比在今年的前三个月里，萎缩2.3个百份点，显示出超过20年来的最大萎缩。因为政府的财政刺激一揽子方案没有得到实施。
From a year ago, the country’s gross domestic product hardly grew, rising by a mere 0.4 per cent, way below even the government’s forecast of 1.8-2.8 per cent growth.
从一年前开始，该国国内生产总值几乎没有增长，仅仅增长0.4个百分点，与政府预言的1.8到2.8个百分的增长相去甚远。
