布鲁塞尔——谷歌公司首席律师周三声称他们正在要求美、欧政府就解除网络过滤问题向中国施压，鉴于这为（另一层面上的）“自由贸易”造成了屏障。
David Drummond告诉记者，西方国家在捍卫信息“自由贸易”上应秉承应对中国倾销商品问题时的一贯原则。
他还强调“政府间的对话将是改变事态的唯一途径，而这一网络过滤加剧的趋势终将被制止”。

BRUSSELS—Google Inc.'s top lawyer said Wednesday the company is asking the U.S. and European governments to press China to lift Internet censorship, describing it as an unfair barrier to free trade.
David Drummond told reporters that Western countries should defend the free trade in information with the same kind of rules that they use to complain of China's below-cost sale of products.

谷歌或许在技术上领先于微软，但是谈到成熟度，微软已经是个成年人了，谷歌却差得远。它的天真和自大让我们不得不联想到某个暴发户家里被宠坏的孩子。谷歌真的指望中国会屈从于其他国家有关网络过滤所施加的压力？微软已近在中国学乖了，现在就忙着为它的股东们赚钱呢。而谷歌，在澳洲和欧洲也麻烦不断，却还执迷不悟地想要整个世界按他的套路走。
Google may be technically smarter than Microsoft. When it comes to maturity, Microsoft is a grown-up adult, whereas Google, with its naivete and arrogance, reminds us of a spoiled child of some nouveau riche. Does Google really expect China to succumb to the pressure of foreign governments regarding censorship? Microsoft has learned its lesson in China and now focuses on making money there for their shareholders. Google, with its problems in Australia and Europe, still wants the whole world doing things their way.

谷歌在决定退出中国的时候就已经自毁桥梁了。我并不是想说取消网络过滤不是个好事，但是谷歌在这个问题上已经处于劣势（没什么发言权）了。试图把欧洲也扯进来去迫使中国打开大门不会有什么效果。唯一可能有效的是中国本土的人提出这种要求。如果中国国内的人寻求欧洲帮助的话，说不定会有人回应这一要求。不过这种情况在近期内估计不大可能发生了。
Google burned that bridge when it decided to "pull-out" of China. It's not that I don't think eliminating Internet censorship is a good thing, its just that Google has a weak position. Trying to involve the EU to get China to open its doors probably won't help. The only thing that might help is people within China asking for it. If people within China asked help from the EU then the claim might be recognized. However, that isn't likely to happen anytime soon. 谷歌不是自己主动走的嘛……咋耍起赖了？

如果信息也算自由贸易的一种，那么强烈要求西方各大新闻社进口我国各大社新闻不然光进口不出口贸易逆差过大啊
而且要求严惩CNN等一干炮制假新闻假信息的公司，简直就是信息贸易界的安然丑闻，对我国形象造成严重损害，要求经济赔偿！ y lin
没听明白。网络过滤阻止了自由贸易？别闹了！事实是谷歌竞争不过百度了。那是你的问题。若果你没能力与对手竞争就干脆别做生意了。居然跟妈妈哭诉要求帮助。真恶心！！
I don't get the point. The censorship prevent free trade? Come on! The truth is you Google cannot compete with Baidu. That is your problem. If you don't have the ability to fight against the competitor, just don't do business. Don't cry out for your mom to help you. It sucks!!

或许他们（谷歌）有另一套商业企划，却没能在中国得以通过。这表明现在的美国政府对大型资本企业(虽说是税收来源之一)的兴趣已经和对清廉执政的决心不相上下了。
perhaps they have a different business plan that s basically been banned in China. This present government in the US has about as much interest in corporate America (aside from it being a source of tax revenue) or indeed in America as a whole as it does in honest governance.

Perhaps google should first try to persuade the US to stop censoring terrorist propoganda and EU to stop censoring Nazi messages on the internet.

Way to go, Jun Jing! America has even more strict rules to the Chinese firms, why don't you say something about that? You have double standards! American government is honest, who is kidding who? Former President Bill Clinton had an affair with the white house intern and he lied about it. I highly suggest you guys clean your own plate before passing any judgements to any other country. 既想通过网络对中国进行颠覆活动和意识形态的渗透，还不允许中国反抗，真是岂有岂理！
