英语里表达“做饭做菜”这个意思时，只要是涉及煎炒烹炸等“开火动作”，cook 就可以派上用场。

如“做菜”(炒菜一类的) 可以用 cook a dish 来表达；还有 cook a meal (做一顿饭) 和 cook dinner (做晚餐) 等说法。

沙拉、凉菜、糕点一类不用开火就能做好的美味，要用更神通广大的 make 来表达，如 make a cake (做个蛋糕) 。


2. The beggar ate all the soup.

英语中 drink 的对象只能是饭店中常说的“酒水”，西方人把汤看做是饭的一部分，因此对应的动词是 eat.

1. Tommy left his suitcase in the hotel room.

忘记了别人的名字，忘记了事情，可以用 forget.

如：She forgot to post the letter. 她忘记寄这封信了。

当你把一件真正的东西忘在了它不该待的地方，要用动词 leave.

When I went to school I left my books at home.  去上学时，我把书落在家里了。


2. She bought a small gift for her friend.

purchase 作为动词，通常用于正式的购买行为，

要么就是量大(如批发1000吨材料)，要么就是买的东西值钱(房子、车子)

The factory purchased a set of equipment.  工厂购入了一套设备。

其他的购买动作一般都用最普通的动词 buy 来表示。

译：跟你说实话吧，你真恶心。

be frank with 与 be honest with 相近，指“坦率的，不委婉的”。

1. A traffic accident happened in the middle of the road.

center 指的是一个“面”的中心点，如 the center of the square （广场的正中央）；

道路通常被视为一条“线”，“路中间”只能用middle 来表示。


2. Jacke didn't make any mistake on this.

英语中“犯错误”的说法是 make a mistake 或make mistakes;

fault 主要是指人或物的“缺点”“毛病”，find fault with  吹毛求疵。

汉语里的“高鼻子”到了英语里就成了“长鼻子”——或许能够看出东西方思维方式的不同

——西方人喜欢把自己和大象联系起来。

2. He is tall fellow.

形容人个子高，一般只能用tall；形容山高，一般只能用high

只有形容建筑物时，既可以用high也可以用tall, 如：a high/ tall building  一座很高的建筑物

It's so long that  i think i will be tired of living in this world,people' life are filled with trivial details which one can not bear them for 1000 years.the best age i want to leave this world is 65.
