The Tibetan spiritual leader's call Monday appeared to contradict assurances that his five-day visit to comfort the victims of the worststorm to hit the island in 50 years would steer clear of the political-- a concern for President Ma Ying-jeou's administration, which is seeking closer ties with mainland China.

prayer 作为名词时有 祝福 的意思，它不是英语里本来就有的词，而是来自波兰语的外来语。

“intersperse”和“with”太远了，应该不是这个意思，你的翻译里也没有“用...点缀”，我想应该是“伴随着对中国的挑战为莫拉克台风的死难者散布祝福。”
