(Reuters) - A new satellite image shows a markedincrease in activity at a North Korean missile launch site, pointing to apossible long-range ballistic missile test by Pyongyang in the next three weeks, accordingto satellite operator DigitalGlobe Inc.

The imagery was released days after a Japanesenewspaper, the Asahi Shimbun, reported that U.S.intelligence analysts had detected moves that were seen as preparation by North Korea for a long-range missile launch as earlyas this month.

日本《朝日新闻》报道，在本月初，美国情报分析家已经发现朝鲜正在准备“远程导弹”发射活动。一天后，美国DigitalGlobe公布了该图像。

DigitalGlobe, which provides commercial satelliteimagery to the U.S.government and foreign governments, on Monday released a new image that it saidshowed increased activity at North Korea'sSohae (West Sea) Satellite Launch Station.

It said the imagery showed more people, trucks andother equipment at the site, a level of activity that was consistent with preparationsseen before North Korea'sfailed April 13 rocket launch.

据该公司称，发射场周边人员以及货车活动增多，还有其他相关设备存在。据悉，今年4月13日该发射场发射卫星时也出现过类似迹象，不过那次朝鲜卫星发射失败。

"Given the observed level of activity noted ofa new tent, trucks, people and numerous portable fuel/oxidizer tanks, should North Koreadesire, it could possibly conduct its fifth satellite launch event during thenext three weeks," DigitalGlobe said in a statement accompanying theimage.

DigitalGlobe公司的一份声明称，鉴于卫星拍摄到人员，货车，大量移动式燃料罐存在，我们可以推断出朝鲜可能会在未来三周内进行第五次卫星发射。

A Pentagon spokeswoman declined to comment on thereported satellite images, but said the Defense Department's position on North Korea'smissile development efforts had not changed.

She urged North Koreato comply with U.N. Security Council resolutions that "require Pyongyang to suspend allactivities related to its ballistic missile program in a complete, verifiable,and irreversible manner, and re-establish its moratorium on missilelaunching."

她敦促朝鲜遵守联合国安理会有关决议，“要求朝鲜终止其弹道导弹相关计划的所有活动，暂停导弹发射试验。”

North Korea is believed to be developing along-range ballistic missile with a range of up to 4,200 miles aimed at hittingthe continental United  States but the last two rocket test launchesfailed.

朝鲜正在研究发展可覆盖美国、射程达4200英里的远程导弹。不过朝鲜最近两次的火箭测试发射都以失败告终。

In April, under its new leader Kim Jong-un, North Korea launched a rocket that flew just afew minutes covering a little over 60 miles before crashing into the seabetween South Korea andChina.

今年4月，在朝鲜新一届领导人金正恩的领导下，朝鲜发射“银河3号”火箭，不过发射几分钟后火箭随即坠入中国和韩国两国海域，发射失败。
