Years after Google exited China, the tech giant is back working with Chinese developers. Yet, the Google Play store continues to be off limits to users.
谷歌前些年曾经进入中国市场,但最后以失败告终。如今,谷歌将与中国移动应用开发者重新合作,开发者将通过谷歌play应用商店,向全世界的安卓用户发行自己的应用。

There is already an ecosystem of third-party app stores in China. Currently, Android users get their apps from Baidu and Tencent.
中国移动应用商店已形成了一个生态系统。目前,中国的安卓用户可以从百度和腾讯的手机助手获取应用软件。

"Google Play is the largest digital store for Android users to discover and purchase their favorite mobile app and games, and the ecosystem is continuing to grow globally. Over the past year, we've expanded the list of countries where app developers can sign up to be merchants on Google Play, totaling 60 countries, including Lebanon, Jordan, Oman, Pakistan, Qatar and Venezuela most recently," wrote Ellie Powers, product manager for Google Play, in a blog post.

Facebook is another tech giant that's been blocked in China, but last month Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg attempted to woo the Chinese community by speaking Mandarin at a Q&A.
另一家科技巨头Facebook在中国同样处于屏蔽状态。但Facebook创始人马克·扎克伯格一直想开拓中国市场。在上个月Q&A问答会议中,扎克伯格努力向观众秀中文,争取拉近Facebook与中国的距离。

Apple's relationship with China, on the other hand, differs. It's app store is already available in China but it's made changes of its own Thursday.
相比于Facebook,苹果公司与中国关系就略显不同。虽然中国用户一直能使用苹果应用商店,但苹果公司周四对苹果应用商店的政策做出了调整。

In its app store, the download button for a "FREE" app now reads "GET."
应用商店里原有的“免费”按钮变成了“获取”按钮。

In-app purchases have become a major way developers make money. Apps labeled "FREE" often cost a user money to move levels or to continue to play.
程序内购买一直是应用开发者获取盈利的主要方式。有”免费“字样的应用程序通常都会随着用户使用过程中要求付费,让用户获取更多功能或者继续使用的权限。

Users have voiced frustration over not knowing how much an app experience is really going to cost.
由于不了解应用的收费情况,苹果用户表示失望。

Earlier this year, the European Commission forced Google to re-label apps that offer in-app purchases.
今年早些时候,欧盟联盟委员会要求谷歌重新制定应用内购买的规定。
