Thousands of people havebeen attending the funerals of eight Australian children found dead in thenorth-eastern city of Cairnslast month.

上个月8名澳大利亚籍儿童被发现横尸凯恩斯东北部的一个城市，数千人前来参加了葬礼。

The service is calledKeriba Omasker, which means "our children" in the ancestral languageof the children.

追悼活动名为 Keriba Omasker ,在托雷斯海峡岛民方言中意为“我们的孩子”。

Attending is PrimeMinister Tony Abbott, who tweeted:"Today in Cairns.Sad beyond words. Keriba Omasker."

The mother of sevenof the children has been charged with their murders. The other victim was herniece.

The four boys andfour girls were aged between 18 months and 14 years.

Almost 5,000 peopleheard prayers and tributes to the children at a memorial service.

Mr Abbott and otherAustralian political leaders laid wreaths.

Hearses are takingthe children's bodies to Martyn Place Cemetery,where they will be laid to rest.

The mother, MersaneWarria, 37, is being treated in hospital. She is not reported to be attending thefuneral.
