日本の形状はマルティーニ図の系統。蝦夷がアジア大陸と地続きの半島として描かれており、"Matsmey"（松前）、"Acquis"（厚岸）などの地名が記入されている。N. de Fer(1646-1720)は、フランスの技師・地図作者で、王室地理学者をつとめた。
