If China tried to intervene in the trial or sentencing of a Chinese citizen accused of a serious crime in the UK, we would not like it.

There has been no real suggestion that he wasn't guilty, only that he was mentally ill. The Chinese wouldn't execute a foreigner if they didn't think it was absolutely justified.

I'm against the death penalty, but not uduly upset about this sentence. He knew what he was doing, and has paid the price. The general reaction in the UK isn't very sympathetic.

If more conutrys were like china and that there would be less crime... look at Ireland here and the UK some kills someone and they get 6 years or so for it, meaby 4 for good behaviour????

The key phrase is "A British man, THOUGHT to be mentally ill".
His family never actual had a official diagnoses, may be because the stigma attached. In hind sight they should sought and got a official diagnosis, rather than leaving it has a procedural defence against the death penalety in foriegn country. Many foriegners caugth smulggling drugs, say they have been tricked :-) . This is a wearsome defence in a foriegn country. This man traveled the world how mentally ill was he?

No one makes this much of a ruckus when a Brit is executed in the United States? Whats the difference? The USA shoots down drug traffickers (suspected) with no trial whatsoever. No one would have batted an eyelid if this chap had been given the lethal injection in the states

Not many days ago the Home Secretary refused to prevent Gary McKinnon, who suffers from Aspergers Syndrome, from being extradited to the United States for a crime that had no wrongful or injurious intent. Yet Mr McKinnon might die early through being unable to withstand the treatment he is likely to get if convicted in the US courts.
He deserves much more support than a drug smuggler in China.

Every time when a Brit breaks law abroad and gets prosecuted, he/she is treated like a hero no matter what he/she has done. If this is what human right means, I would rather not to have one.

The BBC was so misleading and biased. It played again and again the Chinese won't let the body go home. The fact was he is the muslim and need to be buried within 24 hours. And China respected this. Come on, BBC, show some useful and important details which were deliberately missed in your reports.

如果“行为良好”，只需要关4年。出来后无需工作，还有免费的钱用。所以在英国杀人犯是很舒服的。
被杀的那些人什么都没有，他们的亲属还要交40%的税去养杀人犯。关一个人的费用够得上住伦敦顶级的酒店了。
你说谁有人权？反正被杀的人和他们的亲属没有。
