当我仔细看完这则新闻，我没有觉得移民及多元文化部长肯尼所说的话，有什么不妥。
第一，什么是加拿大的价值？
我特地到移民部网站找到了原文：
Canadian values include freedom, respect for cultural differences and a commitment to social justice（加拿大的价值包括自由，尊重不同文化和支持社会正义）. We are proud of the fact that we are a peaceful nation. In fact, Canadians act as peacekeepers in many countries around the world.
Canada is a large country with a small population. We have developed a unique federal style of government that is based on compromise and co-existence. We value our democracy, and every citizen is encouraged to do his or her share. Our laws are based on our democratic values(民主的价值）. Canadian values include:
Equality（平等）—We respect everyone’s rights. Everyone has the right to speak out and express ideas that others might disagree with. Governments must treat everyone with equal dignity and respect—two other fundamental Canadian values.
Respect for cultural differences（尊重不同的文化）—We try to understand and appreciate the cultures, customs and traditions of all Canadians, whether they were born in Canada or came here from another country.
Freedom（自由）—As Canadians, we enjoy basic freedoms, such as freedom of thought, freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of peaceful assembly.
Peace（和平）—We are proud of our non-violent society and our international role as peacekeepers.
Law and order（法律和秩序）—We respect democratic decision making and the “rule of law.” We promote due process so that the courts and the police treat everyone fairly and reasonably. We ensure that our elected governments remain accountable to Canadians.

其中特别提到尊重多元文化是加拿大价值之一。加拿大政府引以为荣的就是多元文化的并存。当然
对于其他种族中文化中暴力和排他性，是加拿大所不能接受的。这有错么？这是推动同化么？
第二，关于族群融合的问题
对于移民而言，来到一个不同种族，不同文化的地方，若不能融入当地，很容易边缘化，甚至产生极端
思想，这是政府所担忧的，所以也是政府一直在努力的推动的。
若你作为一个新移民不愿意接受当地的价值及文化，别人也不会管你的，因为最后吃亏的是你自己。 找不
到好工作，不适应当地的生存环境。
其实，加拿大的种族融合做得非常不错，来自世界200多个民族和平的生活在同个国家。这里生活着台湾人，大陆人，西藏人。 生活着犹太人和阿拉伯人，生活着英国人和法国人。偶尔这里会有些种族的冲突，但那不是主流价值。
当然，大家和平相处，互不往来，确实存在的。 这也是肯尼所担心的，他希望族群可以融合和包容，但任务也是艰巨的。 |
