Macau delegation to review Sichuan's tourism recovery

A Macau delegation departed to Sichuan yesterday to review the tourism industry's recovery progress nearly a year after the earthquake devastated the Chinese province.
Formed by the Macau Government Tourist Office (MGTO), the Auxiliary Board for Tourism Development and travel agencies, nearly 50 representatives started their four-day official visit in Sichuan in hope to support its tourism industry's restoration through bilateral cooperation.
Chief of the Social Affairs and Culture Secretary Office and head of the delegation, Tam Chon Weng, together with MGTO director Joao Antunes and other members will meet Sichuan Tourism Bureau president Zhang Gu today.
During the meeting, the two sides will discuss plans to back the full recovery of Sichuan tourism.
The Macau travel agencies representatives will also meet with their Sichuan counterparts to talk about how to attract more Macau visitors to the Chinese province.
The Macau delegation will also visit world heritage sites Mount Qingcheng and Dujiangyan, as well as Deyang city and Han Wang Village which were significantly affected by the 512 earthquake.
