在大多数的介绍死亡金属的资料中，DEATH乐队被认为是第一支Death Metal乐队，1983年的佛罗里达，天才人物也是后来DEATH乐队的灵魂人物Chuck Schuldiner 和两个好朋友吉他Rick Rozz、鼓手兼主唱Kam Lee组成了DEATH乐队的雏形MANTAS，在自己的排练房和一些吵闹的酒吧里玩一种很极端的重金属，Chuck当时只是十五岁的少年，从那时开始死亡金属这个概念正在世界的各个角落慢慢明朗，而这个少年也注定要在这段历史上发挥重要的作用。迄今为止DEATH一共只有正式专辑7张。应该说DEATH 不是一个风格鲜明的乐队，因为它的每一张专辑思路、风格都在变化；DEATH也不是一个固定的乐队，它的成员除了Chuck之外一直都在变；但它的技术超群、意识超前，DEATH是一支无法为其划分类别的独特乐队，也很难将之与其它乐队相比较，但从始至终它都是最优秀的重金属乐队。2001年的12月13 日是一个叫所有金属乐迷难过的日子，伟大的吉他英雄Chuck因脑癌离开了我们，他一生中最富有创造力的时光全部奉献给了重金属音乐，他短暂的一生没有留下积蓄给家人，也没有光环萦绕的荣誉，但是他才华横溢的作品和执着追求的人生态度被全世界的金属乐迷所尊敬，他也因此而获得在我们心中的永生

Heathen Foray

来自奥地利的乐队，专辑从头到尾听完就是感到非常出彩！旋律维京也好，旋律异教也好，维京旋死也好，总之旋律上不用去质疑。专辑不华丽，没有那些民谣里的复杂的配乐，没有键盘的铺垫，仅仅是RIFF和Solo就足够了。虽然算不上很纯正的维京，不过整体感觉很好，solo很牛，流畅有激情，RIFF也是很棒
